Quick update -- neighbors gave us small pieces of plywood this morning plus one had two sheets from friends to sell us, and we were able to board up several of our front windows. As we were working, a few drops of rain fell and then within 15 seconds came a torrential downpour. We rushed to rescue the electrical saw and drills, boards and nails. We were completely drenched but kept working as the rain faded to finish the boarding. Our neighbor's tree was loosened by Charley -- it is leaning towards our house. We took a 2x4 and wedged it against the tree to try to keep it from falling. The outside rain bands of the hurricane are beginning to come. Our stop sign is really dancing in the wind.
